So I picked this up because it looked interesting and because the author was Australian.
Overall, I liked the book.
The characters were rather likable and within the first few pages I was really feeling for them all. I have to admit my favourite characters were Brockwell and Bryce. Maelgwyn was a close favourite as well. He was a very loveable and honourable king. Tori was the kick ass female lead.
The plot line was also pretty good. It was easy to understand and follow. My only issue was that in some places, the story just seemed to lagged and felt dragging. For that reason it took me well over a month to finish this one.
I would recommend this one to others and have added the next in the trilogy to my to read list.
