Thought I would post my views on the fashion of the Oscar's red carpet.

  • Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie AKA Ken and GI Joe Barbie - simple understated and overall well done, nice to see she didn't over do it.
  • Jennifer Lopez - classy and nicely done but I have to say enough we've seen this style on her before. Looks good but we've seen it before.
  • Meryl Streep - can not fault her, very elegant. She is probably the only one who could have pulled off this colour and style.
  • Penelope Cruz - princess like not what I expected on the Oscar's red carpet.
  • Michelle Williams - I liked it but I don't know a little old fashioned for my liking.
  • Viola Davis - loved it, the hair not so much but still it works well.
  • Missi Pyle - the style of dress is nice but the colour didn't work for me, if it were a darker colour I think it would have looked so much better.
  • Tina Fey - Stunning absolutely stunning
  • Maya Rudolph - wasn't a fan of this dress, I think the belt was the issue, perhaps if the belt wasn't there it would have been okay.
  • Espranza Spalding - had to search her on imdb.com because I do not recognize her. As for the dress did not like this, far too plain for an event like this one.
  • Emma Stone - loved it. The bow however I am sitting on the fence with, I kind of like it but I kind of don't.
  • Anna Farris - It works for her but I just don't like it.
  • Berenice Bejo - yeah again with the colour, don't like the colour at all. I don't think it goes with her hair colour at all.
  • Busy Phillips - too plain for my liking and the colour/pattern didn't do anything for me. The style of the dress worked for me though.
  • Natalie Portman - at a distance this works, up close not so much. The polka dot print does not do anything for me.
  • Sandra Bullock - I like the style though perhaps if the change in colour was higher up and the embriodery went up further it would have looked better.
  • Leslie Mann - loved it, very nicely done and she looked genuinly happy to be there.
  • Sheri Shepherd - loved this, only thing to make it better would be if you couldn't see her bra.
  • Kelly Ripa - very nice
  • Melanie Griffith - yeah to plain
  • Jessica Chastain - I actually liked this one, very nice
  • Cameron Diaz - she could have done so much better. But in saying that I think colour was again the issue here, wrong colour for her.
  • Gwyneth Paltrow - elegant, exactly what I expected from her. Suits her well.
  • Kristen Wiig - I liked the dress just not her hair colour, it feels too dark for her.
  • Kate Mara - too bland for my liking.
  • Jane Seymour - I don't like this one, the design of it just doesn't sit well with me.
  • Octavia Spencer - understated elegance, love it
  • Rooney Mara- yeah didn't like this one, I think the dress just makes her look to skinny. Sorry but I just don't like it.
  • Glenn Close - understated elegance, well done.
  • Giuliana Rancic - so pretty
  • Nancy O'Dell - oh my, too bright, perhaps if the black lace went further down it would have been alright.
  • Sarah Hyland - so cute, suits her.
  • Kelly Osbourne - love the dress, not so much the hair but it's growing on me.
  • Lea Thompson - lose the shawl and it would have been so much better.
  • Milla Jovovich - nice, model like.
  • George Clooney and Stacy Keibler - do I even have to say. love it
  • Melissa McCarthy - loved the style just not the colour, were it a different colour it would have been awesome.
  • Rose Byrne - normally I like what she wears but this I don't.
  • Judy Greer - yeah no not liking this one at all
  • Shailene Woodley - actually really like this.
  • Virginia Madsen - not really liking this one, too plain

Angel Evolution by David Estes

Description from Goodreads: Angel Evolution- the first book in the young adult fantasy trilogy: The Evolution Trilogy... When Taylor meets Gabriel at college, she is in awe of the subtle glow that surrounds him. No one else, not even her best friend, seems to notice. Something about him scares her. Is all as it appears? While Taylor struggles for answers, she finds herself in the middle of a century old war centered on one miraculous revelation: evolution.

My opinion:

I'd like to just start by saying I received the book free from the author.

Overall I liked the book, though it didn't hold my attention. It took me a while to get through it.

On a whole it was well written and the characters were genuinely likeable. In saying that there were one or two places I felt there was too much of an information dump but it did help me to understand what was going on.

It was a different take on the whole angel and demon subset of paranormal fiction. It wasn't what I expected but yeah it was good.

Though I will reread this one at a later date, after I've read something other then an Angel series. I think having read Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter Series back to back directly before starting this book. Will update after I've read it for a second time.
